I enjoyed the tour tremendously. I usually like to do self-guided tours, but my initial meeting with Levi and the immediate 'I am listening, let me help' changed that for me. Levi was very patient and his attention in to details of what the apartments and building has was everything I didn't know I needed in a tour. His customer service skills are professional and reassuring.
I toured the property which was admittedly very nice and found a unit that I would’ve loved to rent. Unfortunately, AMLI failed at one of the simplest tasks an apartment could: a background check. I submitted all my information like SSN, employer, previous address, etc and AMLI calls me the next day to say I failed their background check. Their BG check found four felonies in various cities from my home state that they’re attributing to me. I inform them that, of course, this is a massive mistake and they definitely have the wrong persons info. I asked for the BG check businesses name or number and AMLI would not provide it. Instead they offered to send me the PDF of the BG check from the company which I received the next day. The “charges” that were being attributed to me were for at least 2 if not 3 different people who shared my name and birth year. There were no other identifiers on these documents. Not a SSN nor a birth DAY, just birth year + name. One of the charges was for a “jr”. I am not a junior and they had a copy of my license to disprove that one. The charges were all in cities and counties I’d never lived in (remember they have my previous addresses). I tell them that obviously this is ridiculous and to do a BG check with a different company or using my SSN. They declined and continually asked me to give them “proof” that those charges aren’t mine, as though the names being different or the cities/counties never matching mine weren’t enough. What proof did they want? I have no idea, they never told me! I believe they literally wanted me to call the courthouses in these places and ask for a letter or something saying it’s not me? With all this work I’m putting in on their behalf, they should’ve paid ME the BG check fee. After like 3 days of back and forth I sent an email asking AMLI to cancel my application as if they couldn’t handle a BG check then I didn’t have confidence in their ability to handle my rent payments or maintenance requests. The next day I receive an email stating that THEY have canceled my application due to my “extensive criminal history”. They literally pulled a “you’re not breaking up with US, we’re breaking up with YOU!”.
I went to a different apartment complex and they completed my BG check in less than hour with no issue. So I’d be very careful applying to AMLI if there’s any chance in the world someone else shares your name and has criminal history, because AMLI WILL pin that on you and make you quit your day job to background check yourself on their behalf.
My only regret is waiting so long to review this place after moving out. Everything from the move in process to my 3 year stay to the move out process, the staff and neighbors were truly fantastic.
The apartment spaces are beautifully updated and the noise from neighbors, although does penetrate at times, is far better then others I have lived at. Facilities are nice and all functional, maintenance staff is respectful and timely!
AMLI Dry Creek has been awesome. Front desk and maintenance staff have been stellar, super friendly and are quick to respond. The building is well kept and secure, and despite close proximity to I25 is quiet in the apartments.
Alana, Nathaniel, everyone working in the leasing office provided excellent customer service, they were personable and responsive to all of my family needs and concerns in establishing my new lease! I’m very excited to move into my unit. I absolutely love the property.
